Vianca Alejandra, soprano

About Vianca Alejandra, soprano

Vianca Alejandra is a soprano from Puerto Rico. Recent achievements include Second Place in the 2025 NATS Competition (New York Chapter). At her young age, she has performed twice as a soloist at Carnegie Hall, received the Lotos Foundation Prize in the Arts and Sciences (2024), and won the Puerto Rico District of the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition (2023). She joined the New York Philharmonic Chorus in 2022.

In 2023, she debuted as Kathie in The Student Prince with Regina Opera (Brooklyn, NY) and as Pamina at the International Summer Opera Festival of Morelia, Mexico. In 2024, she performed Norina in Don Pasquale at the Festival of the Aegean in Greece.

In October 2025, she served as Music Director for the Brooklyn College Theater Department’s production of Marcus; or the Secret of the Sweet. She is also a former Assistant Conductor to Maestro Malcolm J. Merriweather at The Dessoff Choirs and holds a Master’s degree in Voice Performance from Brooklyn College, where she received the departmental Opera-Theater Award.

At 16, she had the privilege of studying with the late Puerto Rican tenor Antonio Barasorda at the Conservatory of Music of Puerto Rico, and at 17, she made her solo debut in the Concierto Tradicional de Reyes with the Puerto Rico Symphony Orchestra under Maestro Roselín Pabón.
